Popular build-your-own pizza concept to open June 4, 2015
(ATLANTA) May 2015 – Leading fast-casual pizza brand Uncle Maddio’s Pizza Joint is bringing its chef-driven, customized pizza to Birmingham, Ala. The Atlanta-based build-your-own pizza concept will open at 210 Doug Baker Blvd in The Village at Lee Branch shopping center on June 4, 2015. This will be the first of five Uncle Maddio’s locations for the Birmingham and Tuscaloosa, Ala., areas. In celebration of the grand opening on Friday, June 5, the restaurant will serve free 9-inch, build-your-own, three-topping pizzas to guests in line from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Uncle Maddio's offers premium ingredients and more customization than any other fast-casual pizza chain. Guests choose from one of three crusts, including a gluten-free option, and 48 toppings including six sauces, 27 vegetables and 15 meats. More than 30 menu items are made fresh daily in-house. For those with dietary restrictions, Uncle Maddio's serves up a huge selection of healthful options such as whole wheat and gluten-free crusts, hormone-free chicken, fresh local vegetables, Daiya vegan cheese and organic greens. Create-your-own signature salads and toasted Panini sandwiches round out the Italian-style menu. The restaurant also offers a selection of craft beers and wine.
“Birmingham residents can now experience the Uncle Maddio’s made-from-scratch pizza ordered just how they like it,” said Sha Nateghi, Uncle Maddio’s franchisee. “I think our guests will come to love the fresh and flavorful pizza concept, and we look forward to serving the community.”
The Birmingham restaurant is owned and operated by franchisee Sha Nateghi. Nateghi is already a successful Jimmy John’s franchisee and also has experience as an AAMCO Transmissions franchisee. Alabama residents have already come to know Uncle Maddio’s and have enjoyed its menu at the Auburn and Daphne, Ala., locations. The restaurant will also open in Huntsville, Ala., in late 2015.
“I think our made-from-scratch pizza will be a big hit for friends, families and co-workers in Birmingham,” said Matt Andrew, CEO of Uncle Maddio’s. “Sha Nateghi is an experienced franchisee and is committed to giving restaurants guests our ‘served with love’ experience.”
Since launching its aggressive growth plan in 2008, Uncle Maddio's has signed franchise agreements with 55 different entities in 18 states. Many of Uncle Maddio's franchisees have previous multi-unit experience with Jimmy John's, Firehouse Subs, Dairy Queen, McDonalds, Burger King, Krystal, Papa John's, Domino's, Golden Corral and Five Guys.
