Uncle Maddio’s Pizza Joint Announces Jacksonville, Fla. New Year’s Eve Opening

Restaurant to serve free pizza from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on January 10th

(ATLANTA, GA) December 30, 2014 – Uncle Maddio’s Pizza Joint is closing 2014 with a bang with the opening of its first Jacksonville, Fla., restaurant on New Year’s Eve day. The restaurant is located in Deerwood  located in Deerwood Village Shopping Center on the corner of Baymeadows Road and Southside Blvd (8221 Southside Blvd) and is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.  It will be the second Uncle Maddio’s location in Florida and joins the already-open Tallahassee location.  Uncle Maddio’s will host its Grand Opening celebration on Jan. 10, 2015.

Uncle Maddio’s offers premium ingredients and more customization than any other fast-casual pizza restaurant.  Guests can choose one of three crusts, including a gluten-free option, and have the choice of 48 toppings including six sauces, 27 vegetables and 15 meats. For those with dietary restrictions, Uncle Maddio's serves up a huge selection of healthful options like whole wheat and gluten free crusts, hormone-free chicken, fresh local vegetables, Daiya vegan cheese and organic greens. Create-your-own signature salads and toasted panini sandwiches round out the Italian-style menu.  The restaurant also offers a selection of craft beers and wine.

The Jacksonville, Fla., restaurant will be owned and operated by franchisee Kevin Gartner. Gartner has more than 20 years of experience operating multiple Krystal restaurant locations in North Florida and expects to grow the Uncle Maddio’s as well.  He has signed on to develop a total of five Uncle Maddio’s locations, which will include two restaurants in Gainesville, Fla.

“I’ve been working hard to find the right location in Jacksonville,” said Kevin Gartner, Uncle Maddio’s franchisee.  “I think Deerwood Village is the perfect place for young, old, friends, families and office workers alike to enjoy the Uncle Maddio’s menu and personalize their pizza.  I look forward to introducing the Jacksonville community to the create-your-own pizza concept and hearing their reaction to the high-quality, great-tasting food.”

The Jacksonville, Fla. opening will be the first of 30 new Florida restaurant openings for the fast-casual pizza chain.  Uncle Maddio’s recently awarded a multi-unit deals to open in Ocala, Panhandle and the Tallahassee markets.  Other Florida target markets for 2015 include Tampa, Lakeland and Fort Myers, Fla.

“We are just getting started with our expansion into Florida,” said Matt Andrew, CEO of Uncle Maddio’s.  “The Florida market is a top priority for us and Jacksonville is the perfect place to open our second Florida location.  We anticipate additional Florida restaurants to open in 2015.”
