Uncle Maddio’s Pizza Joint Set to Rock the Denver Fast-Casual Pizza Scene

Create-Your-Own Pizza Restaurant to Open in Chipotle’s and Smash Burger’s Pizza Territory Aurora, Colo.

(ATLANTA, GA) December 30, 2014 – Uncle Maddio’s Pizza Joint, the 29-unit fast casual chain that has earned raves on its conquest of 13 states, is staking its claim to the Denver-area market with the opening of its first Colorado location in early January. Set to open in The Gardens in Havana Shopping Center in Aurora on Thursday, January 8, Uncle Maddio’s will celebrate its grand opening on Saturday, January 10 with free 9-inch, any three topping pizza to guests from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.  The newest location will be the first of six Uncle Maddio’s restaurants planned for Colorado.

In addition to Colorado, Uncle Maddio’s will open its first of five Jacksonville, FL units on Dec. 31, as well as the first of five Texas restaurants in Austin in late December. Starting off 2015 with a bang, Uncle Maddio's will open units in January in Omaha, Nebraska, Charleston, South Carolina and Cary, North Carolina — another red hot pizza battleground.

Uncle Maddio’s offers premium ingredients and more customization and good for you options than any other fast-casual pizza chain. Guests can choose one of three crusts, including a gluten-free option, and have the choice of 48 toppings including six sauces, 27 vegetables and 15 meats. For those with dietary restrictions, Uncle Maddio's serves up a huge selection of healthful choices like whole wheat crusts, hormone-free chicken, fresh local vegetables, Daiya vegan cheese and organic greens. Create-your-own signature salads and toasted panini sandwiches round out the Italian-style, well-received menu.  The restaurant also offers a cultivated selection of craft beers and wines.

The restaurant is owned and operated by local Denver resident and Colorado State University graduate James Smethie. “Denver is a hotbed of activity for the build-your-own pizza restaurants and I’m excited for locals to taste the difference between us and other pizza brand,” said Smethie, Uncle Maddio’s Aurora, Colo. franchisee.  “We offer more options than our competitors, fresher ingredients, and homemade sauces, along with a fun, festive atmosphere for both young and old to enjoy.”

Unlike other fast-casual pizza concepts, Uncle Maddio’s uses fast bake ovens that offer the greatest throughput in the industry, making them the fastest and most efficient brand, as evidenced by up to 200 pizzas an hour. The ovens are also the most consistent, producing a perfectly-uniformed cooked pizza each and every time.

Since launching its aggressive growth plan in 2008, Uncle Maddio’s has signed franchise agreements with 50 multi-unit operators in 18 states. The franchise is on track to have 500 restaurants in five years with 1,000 units in development.  Many of Uncle Maddio’s franchisees have previous restaurant experience with Five Guys, Jimmy John’s, Firehouse Subs, Dairy Queen, McDonalds, Burger King, Krystal, Papa John’s, Domino’s, and Golden Corral.
