Popular build-your-own pizza concept to open on July 10
(ATLANTA) June 2015 – Atlanta-based leading fast-casual pizza brand Uncle Maddio’s Pizza Joint will open its first Pennsylvania location when it opens in Cranberry, Pa., on July 10. The build-your-own pizza concept will open at 1686 Route 228 Suite 150. This will be the first of five Uncle Maddio’s locations planned for the Pittsburgh area. The restaurant will hold a grand opening celebration on July 11 and will serve free 9-inch, build-your-own, three-topping pizzas to guests in line from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
In addition to the free pizza on Saturday July 11, Uncle Maddio’s will host family night on Wednesdays where kids eat free if they bring in a ticket stub from either the Pittsburgh Pirates or Pittsburgh Penguins game valid for the day after the game. As part of the opening week, Uncle Maddio’s gave away almost 500 pizzas to homeless shelters and youth organizations.
Uncle Maddio’s is different from most pizza restaurants in that guests interact with the pizza maker to make his or her very own pizza – down to the size (6-inch, 9-inch to large), types of crust and toppings and watch it being baked fast and delivered to your table in less than 8 minutes. Uncle Maddio's offers premium ingredients and more customization than any other fast-casual pizza chain. Guests choose from one of three crusts, including a gluten-free option, and 48 toppings including six sauces, 27 vegetables and 15 meats. More than 30 menu items are made fresh daily in-house. For those with dietary restrictions, Uncle Maddio's serves up a huge selection of healthful options such as whole wheat and gluten-free crusts, hormone-free chicken, fresh local vegetables, Daiya vegan cheese and organic greens. Create-your-own signature salads and toasted Panini sandwiches round out the Italian-style menu.

The Pittsburgh restaurant is owned and operated by Gino and Mali Torriero, along with partners Jake McNary and Jason Betters. Gino Torriero already owns Nello Construction and plans to put his skills to use as he builds out more units in North, South, East and West Pittsburgh. The additional Pittsburgh restaurants will open over the next few years.
